IFIC Reaction to The Mirror’s Safety Campaign - 15th February 2016
6000 tumble dryers burst into flames in six years as campaign calls for tougher safety

Good news – the public are being made aware of the fire risks associated with certain white goods and the safest ways to use them. Sharing of relevant information is key to improving public safety; reducing deaths, injuries and financial losses due to fire. The public and private sector have a part to play in achieving this goal. A forensic investigation is essential to establish where the fire started and to identify other potential ignition sources in order to get to the root cause. When instructed, IFIC Forensics automatically assesses the involvement of white goods in a fire.
